Anton du Preez

Tenor

Anton du Preez is a singer-songwriter in Seattle. He artfully blends adult contemporary and alternative folk with the occasional dash of progressive house or quiet storm. Each piece tells a personal story, sharing the emotion of life experiences, insights about daily existence, or commenting on social issues. Through nuances in lyrics, instrumentation, and orchestration, he invites you to feel exactly what he was feeling during the creative process. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and composer of original soundtracks. As a youngster, Anton initially embraced the trumpet and piano, later expanding into vocals and guitar. He honed his formal training at Nebraska Wesleyan University with a focus on vocal performance, as well as trumpet, piano, and composition, publishing/ performing several original pieces for brass quintet, chorale, and pop ensembles. Anton served as a musician in the United Stated Navy, primarily as the Pacific Fleet Band’s lead vocalist/entertainer. He also played trumpet, guitar, and percussion as needed, while composing originals and arranging/orchestrating charts for each ensemble. Anton released his debut solo album in 2011, “Where I Belong,” and his second album, “Here,” in April 2016. His third album, “Be Bold” released May 5, 2017. Currently, Anton sings with the Seattle Symphony Chorale and works as a session musician for multiple video game soundtracks including Destiny, Diablo, Lord of the Rings, and World of Warcraft. He has continued his studies in composition, orchestration, and sequencing, while producing various genres of music from his home studio
