Andrew Gu is currently a pre-college student with scholarship at San Francisco Conservatory of Music in California. Born in August 2006 in Germany to a musical family, he moved to Boston with his parents when he was two. He started to take piano lessons from mom Helen Jung after turning six. Between 2013 and 2016 he studied with Dr. Sasha Starcevich. He is currently under the direction of Prof. Corey McVicar. He made his orchestra debut at age 8 performing Haydn's Keyboard Concerto in D major with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Alicante at the 2015 Music Fest Perugia in Italy. He was also featured in Classical KingFM’s NW Focus Live Show. He performed in masterclasses for such artists as Antonio Pompa-Baldi, John Perry and Ilana Vered, and also had short lessons with Christopher Elton, Mikhail Petukhov, and Pascal Nemirovski.
