Seattle Arts & Lectures: Billy Collins

S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium

While Billy did trudge through the Seattle Snowbacle of 2010 to the delight of the partially-frozen-poetry-faithful, we regretted that the sudden storm and resulting traffic issues made it too treacherous for everyone to make it that evening. In an effort to provide for those who could not make it - and to reward those who risked life and limb - we are pleased to announce we are bringing Billy Collins back and want to invite you to be our guest.

Your original ticket from the November event, used or unused, will gain you admission to the May 22nd event or if you haven't held on to your ticket and need a replacement, we will be happy to issue you one. To order your replacement ticket today, or to upgrade to another seating level at Benaroya Hall, simply email

For those who weren't able to purchase tickets the first time around, click now to purchase. They are going fast!

Seattle Arts & Lectures
2010-2011 Season Poetry Series

Billy Collins was propelled into the literary spotlight when the collection Questions about Angels was selected by poet Ed Hirsch for the 1990 National Poetry Series. Both critically acclaimed and tremendously popular, his last three collections have broken sales records for poetry. Collins has been called “the class clown in the schoolhouse of American poetry” for his humorous, welcoming style and broad appeal. Collins served as the U.S. Poet Laureate from 2001 to 2003.
