Secondary School

Schools can enjoy full-length concerts featuring the Seattle Symphony at a discounted rate. Included with the performance is a free 30-minute pre-concert talk (one hour prior to all performances). Clock hours are available for teachers with pre-concert attendance.

Friday Matinee Dates: & Repertoire

All Friday Matinees are in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium at Benaroya Hall, starting at 12 noon. Pre-concert talks begin at 11am.

Effective September 1, 2016, we will no longer be offering Preschool Workshops. We are delighted to offer our Tiny Tots Concert Series in their place! Engage your preschool group to a 35-minute interactive program featuring musical games, stories and songs. Pre-concert activities will begin 30 minutes before the show in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby.

Programs for Elementary School

Link Up

In Link Up, students in grades 3–5 are invited to join the Symphony in an interactive and engaging program. Students learn to sing and play orchestral repertoire through the hands-on Link Up curriculum, then perform along with the Seattle Symphony from their seats in a highly participatory concert at Benaroya Hall.

Effective September 1, 2016, we will no longer be offering School Workshops. We are delighted to offer Link Up in its place for grades 3–5! We currently do not have programming designed for grades K–2 and are pleased to refer school groups to the Opera Time program with the Seattle Opera.

Open Rehearsals

Associate Conductor Pablo Rus Broseta guides students through an interactive Open Rehearsal experience. During this rehearsal students will investigate the choices that composers, conductors and individual musicians make to bring the notes on the page to life. Students have the opportunity to ask the orchestra questions and respond to the action happening onstage.

Concerts for Clock Hours

Attend a Masterworks Season concert with a Pre-concert Talk one hour prior to the performance for three clock hours through the Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA). Sign-in sheet and registration information are available at the Head Usher Station in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby.
