Soundbridge Seattle Symphony Music Discovery Center

Build a lifelong relationship with symphonic music!

Since 2001 Soundbridge has served the Puget Sound region as a vibrant musical classroom for students, families and underserved communities. From classes and concerts for your littlest music-lovers to community composition residencies, Soundbridge invites you to build a lifelong relationship with symphonic music.

Family Classes & Pay-What-You-Can Fridays

You are invited to drop into Soundbridge on Fridays between 9am–2pm to see, touch and play real instruments. Suggested donation is $10.

Pay-What-You-Can Fridays include admission to our most popular class, Musical Storytime. From Peter and the Wolf to Carnival of the Animals, kids explore classic musical stories through games, song and dance in this 30-minute class. Classes are Fridays at 9:30 & 11:00am.

Sensory Friendly Concerts

Sensory Friendly Concerts, a new program designed specifically for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other disabilities, invites families with children ages 5–8 to enjoy small chamber works and participatory group songs. The concert experience includes instrument exploration, post-concert meet-and-greet with the featured artists, and a 35-minute performance hosted by a board-certified music therapist.

Community Connections

Soundbridge has become a meeting place for many of our Community Connections partners. Our Community Connections program builds bridges with diverse communities in the region through Symphony concerts, access to complimentary tickets, music-making and co-created community performances. Community Connections currently involves more than 50 local nonprofits.

Effective September 1, 2016, we will no longer be offering School Workshops or Preschool Workshops. We are very excited to offer the following programs in their place!

Tiny Tots Concert Series
Let Your Music Shine with Lisa & Linda™

Engage your youngest music lovers with a 35-minute interactive program featuring musical games, stories and songs. Pre-concert activities will begin 30 minutes before the show in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby.

We currently do not have programming designed for school groups with students grades K–2. Families may join us for our Family Concert series. For school groups with students ages K-2, we are excited to refer school groups to the Opera Time program with the Seattle Opera.

In Link Up, students in grades 3–5 are invited to join the Symphony in an interactive and engaging program. Students learn to sing and play orchestral repertoire through the hands-on Link Up curriculum, then perform along with the Seattle Symphony from their seats in a highly participatory concert at Benaroya Hall.

Birthday Parties

Effective September 1, 2016, we will no longer be offering Birthday Parties. Please join us for Tiny Tots or Family Concerts for your next family outing.
