Musical Storytelling
This 30-minute class is a unique opportunity for children to connect music to some of their favorite stories. In each class, we read a story and play music that relates to the book. Children will sing songs and play musical games, and frequently see and play symphonic instruments. Ideal for children ages 2 to 5 years. Browse the calendar for story of the day!
Instrument Exploration
Let your child explore different instrument types - and then play their own real symphonic instruments! Ideal for children ages 4 and older.
Science of Sound
Understanding the relationship of music with the sciences: physics, biology, and psychology. Explore the idea of sound waves and vibrations. Learn about acoustics, transmission, reflections, absorption and sound isolation. We often include an instrument exploration to help demonstrate the concepts listed above. Then see/hear acoustics in action with a tour of Benaroya Hall! (Subject to availability of the Hall.) Ideal for children ages 6 and older.
Songwriting Workshops
These classes, led by singer/songwriter David Paul Mesler, will encourage creative thinking and uncover new musical talents as kids work together to write a unique song. Class participants will learn basic concepts of music composition and gain positive exposure to the creative musical process. Ideal for children ages 5 and older.

Musical Birthday Parties at Soundbridge
Host your birthday at Soundbridge! Birthday Party includes: songs, musical games, Treasure Hunt Expedition, trombone playing, entrance to Soundbridge for all of your guests, exclusive use of the workshop space, a free Soundbridge t-shirt for the birthday child, a birthday certificate and lots of fun!
Musical Birthday Party Costs (for up to 3 hours during regular business hours)
- $150 with a Soundbridge family membership
- $250 without a membership
- After-hours fee may apply to parties scheduled beyond our regular business hours.

Discover Music! Enhancement Classes
- Designed for children 5 to 12 years of age.
- Five Sunday sessions
- Hands-on sessions specifically designed to enhance the experience of Seattle Symphony Discover Music! Family Concerts
- Classes include musical fun and games based on concert themes, as well as crafts projects

Introduce your children to the joy of music with Tiny Tots series (designed for tots from birth to 5 years of age), featuring Let Your Music Shine with Lisa Linda™ and Kindermusik® Symphony Serenades. Designed as a first-time concert experience, Tiny Tots concerts give your little ones 30 minutes of songs, stories and movement. MORE
Recital Rental
Soundbridge is perfect for your next musical event! Host a recital, sponsor a family music hour, or have a jam session with your friends. Recital Room features a well-tuned grand piano, stage area, seating for a maximum of 60 people, and a reception table. Guests also receive free admission to Soundbridge on the day of the event!
Rental (for up to 3 hours during regular business hours)
- $100 with a Soundbridge school membership
- $200 without a membership
- After-hours fee may apply to recitals scheduled beyond our regulare business hours.
