Musical Storytelling
This 30-minute class is a unique opportunity for children to connect music to some of their favorite stories. In each class, we read a story and play music that relates to the book. Children will sing songs and play musical games, and frequently see and play symphonic instruments. Ideal for children ages 2 to 5 years.
Instrument Exploration
This class is tailored specifically to your class and your students’ interests. The children are given the opportunity to learn about different types of instruments and then play real symphonic instruments. Ideal for children ages 4 and older.
Science of Sound
Understand the relationship of music with the sciences: physics, biology and psychology. Explore the idea of sound waves and vibrations. Learn about acoustics, transmission, reflections, absorption and sound isolation. We tailor the classes based on your students' needs and interests. We often include an instrument exploration to help demonstrate the concepts listed above. Then see/hear acoustics in action with a tour of Benaroya Hall! (Subject to availability of the Hall.) Ideal for children ages 6 and older.
Songwriting Workshops
These classes, lead by singer/songwriter David Paul Mesler (www.davidpaulmesler.com), will encourage creative thinking and uncover new musical talents as students work together to write a unique song. Students will learn basic concepts of music composition and gain positive exposure to the creative musical process. Ideal for children ages 5 and older.
Create-Your-Own Musical Curriculum Extension
Let us customize a class specifically for your students. Class may include concepts listed above and tailored to your students’ interests and development levels.

Soundbridge School/Teacher/Organization Membership
- $60. Valid for 13 months.
Musical Storytelling and Instrument Exploration Classes
- Free with active Soundbridge School Membership
- Scheduled on mutually agreed-upon date/time
Science of Sound, Songwriting Workshops, and Create-Your-Own Musical Curriculum Extension Classes
- Free for the first class/workshop (up to 25 students/5 chaperones) with active Soundbridge School Membership
- Additional people and/or presentations are $2/person
- Scheduled on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
