AFTERNOONS WITH THE SYMPHONY
Love coming to the symphony but don’t like the hassle of traffic and parking? We’ll pick up your group and drive you to the concert absolutely free! Ride safely to and from our Afternoons with the Symphony concerts in comfortable motorcoaches. This season features André Watts performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto alongside Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet. This program is great for schools, corporations and seniors.
SEATTLE POPS
Embark on a guided tour with Seattle Symphony’s new Principal Pops Conductor, Marvin Hamlisch, winner of three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony, three Golden Globes and a Pulitzer Prize. Hamlisch will be conducting three of the five concerts in the series, which also includes Doc Severinsen’s Rhythm of Life and Irvin Mayfield & the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.
MUSICALLY SPEAKING SERIES
Featuring commentary by the conductor and the guest artists, this series is geared toward groups that want to learn more about classical music. Come early and meet the musicians at Soundbridge Seattle Symphony Music Discovery Center for even more musical insight. This series includes magical performances by violinist Midori, Seattle Symphony Associate Conductor Carolyn Kuan, and guest conductor James DePreist.
POPULAR CLASSICS
Timeless orchestral music packaged into one series. Join us or stay downtown and avoid the Friday-night traffic. This series’ early start is perfect for groups of all ages, and features Beethoven’s ever-popular Ninth Symphony and the World Premiere of a new work by composer Aaron Jay Kernis. Capping off the series is Holst’s The Planets, a film score staple that brings the gods of Rome to life with its brilliant orchestration.
* This complimentary performance will be chosen from a list provided by Seattle Symphony.
