Jazz icon THAD JONES, the brother of Hank and Elvin Jones, wrote swinging music for Count Basie, Charles Mingus and Harry James, played as a solo trumpet for Basie, and went on to become the composer and leader of the world famous Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra in residence at the Village Vanguard club, including Thad's lovely "A Child Is Born" and his swinging classic, "Three and One."
