Ludovic Morlot
Music Director
Ludovic Morlot is now in his inaugural season as the Seattle Symphony's Music Director,
and he has quickly established a reputation as one of the leading conductors of his
generation. In January 2012, he assumes a second post as Chief Conductor of La Monnaie/De Munt,
one of the most prestigious opera houses in Europe. During 2012-2013, his first full season with
La Monnaie, his programs will include Alfred Bruneau's Requiem and his first performances of
Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande.

Gerard Schwarz celebrated his Farewell Season as Seattle Symphony Music Director in 2010–2011. He now serves
as the Rebecca & Jack Benaroya Conductor Laureate. Under Schwarz's artistic leadership, the Symphony evolved

Marvin Hamlisch
Principal Pops Conductor
Marvin Hamlisch's life in music is notable for its great versatility as well as substance. As composer, Hamlisch
has won virtually every major award: three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globes.
For Broadway, he wrote the music for They're Playing Our Song, as well as the groundbreaking A Chorus Line,
which received the Pulitzer Prize. More
Eric Garcia
Assistant Conductor
Eric Garcia currently serves as Assistant Conductor for both the Seattle Symphony and the Eastern Music Festival. Garcia formerly served as Director of Orchestral Activities and Professor of Conducting at the University of Evansville and Music Director of the Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. More
Joseph Crnko
Associate Conductor for Choral Activities
Joseph Crnko joined Seattle Symphony as the Associate Conductor for Choral Activities in September 2007. He is in
his 25th year as Music Director of the Northwest Choirs, the Northwest’s premier youth choral organization.

Stilian Kirov
Conducting Fellow
Stilian Kirov is currently Assistant Conductor of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Memphis
Youth Symphony Program. As Seattle Symphony’s Conducting Fellow, Kirov’s fellowship will include a four-week residency,
during which he will be mentored by Ludovic Morlot as well as guest conductors Andrew Manze and Jesús López-Cobos.
He will serve as cover conductor for performances on the Masterworks, Baroque & Wine, Discover Music, and Beyond the Score series.
Kirov previously served as Music Director and founder of the Art Symphony Orchestra in New York and has conducted major orchestras in
France, Germany, Italy, Greece, the United States and in his native Bulgaria.
