Xiao-po Fei has been a member of the Orchestra since March 2002. Previously, he had performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under David Zinman, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under Yoel Levi. Fei’s musical journey began in Shanghai, China, where he attended the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. At age 15, he won the top prize in the Fourth Quadrennial National Violin Competition in China. After moving to the U.S., he won first prizes in the Northwest Young Artist Competition in Seattle, the Marbury Violin Competition in Baltimore, and the Concerto Competition at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of music, which he attended on full scholarship. His respective teachers were Steven Staryk, Dorothy Delay, and Herbert Greenberg.
