Rachel Swerdlow has been a member of the Seattle Symphony viola section since 1987. She enjoys a varied career, playing chamber music and baroque viola as well as coaching chamber music. In 2015, she made her second rafting trip down the Grand Canyon, playing string quartets en route, and also traveled to Wyoming to perform for her 15th year at the Grand Teton Music Festival. In her spare time she likes to run and hike, sew baby jackets for Symphony colleagues' kids, and work on her old house.
