International Women’s Day, celebrated around the world for 110 years, is coming back to Seattle. Join us to hear from inspirational speakers how together we can accelerate equality.

The global theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is Press for Progress.  With gender parity being still over 2 centuries away, 217 years to be exact, according to the World Economic Forum’s 2017 Global Gender Report, there has never been a more important time to get inspired and motivated to be bold and press for change. We are bringing this theme to life with a celebratory event featuring influential speakers who share our philosophy to inspire, empower and support each other to take bold pragmatic action to accelerate equality.  You will hear how together we can help embolden all women to advance and unleash their limitless potential to fulfil their dreams.

Sophia A. Nelson is an award winning journalist and author changing the game for women in corporate America. A former big 10 law firm attorney, Nelson practices what she preaches. Sophia has presented to and trained some of America’s largest companies and industry sectors. With an emerging global platform that is helping women to redefine themselves and unlock their full professional and personal potential by tapping into their sacred “Woman Code,”

Adriane Brown brings over 30 years of leadership experience gained across a variety of industries, serving a number of global customers. Ms. Brown recently served as president and chief operating officer for Intellectual Ventures (IV) and now serves on the board of directors for eBay Inc, Allergan Plc, Washington Research Foundation, and the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

In 2017, Ms. Brown was honored by University of Washington Women’s Center as a Woman of Courage and is she is the deserved recipient of multiple awards most recently including the National Diversity Council 2016 Washington Leadership Excellence Award; the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Martin Luther King Jr. 2015 Leadership Award. And she was named a Woman of Achievement by Legal Momentum in 2014..

Treger Strasberg is the co founder and Co-CEO of Humble Design, a non-profit helping families transitioning out of homelessness by providing furnishings and design services, turning an empty house into a clean, dignified and welcoming home. Over the last seven years, they have fully furnished more than 900 homes and over 5,000 individuals. Headquartered in Detroit, Humble Design is now open in 4 cities nationwide, launching in Seattle in 2018.

Jonathan Sposato is a successful serial entrepreneur and investor in many startups,  Chairman and co-founder of, one of the tech sector’s top news sites, and Chairman and co-founder of PicMonkey, the world’s most fun and popular photo-editor. He also has the distinct honor of being the first person to sell two companies to Google.

In 2015, Jonathan made headlines when he announced he would be the first technology investor to only invest in female-founded companies moving forward. His new book, Better Together: 8 Ways Working with Women Leads to Extraordinary Products and Profits (Wiley) offers powerful and implementable solutions to fostering gender equality in businesses and workplaces.

Amy Nelson is the CEO and Founder of The Riveter, a female forward platform built to provide space, content and connection for business owners and freelancers.  The company launched in Seattle in May 2017 and will expand to California in 2018.  Amy is a former corporate litigator, Truman National Security Project fellow, ​ and served on Obama's National Finance Committee, where she cofounded the national under-40 fundraising arm of the campaign. She is also the mother of three daughters and a graduate of NASA's Space Camp.

MJ DePalma is the Sr. Global Engagement Strategist for Bing Ads at Microsoft and a huge voice for equality, diversity and inclusion throughout Microsoft and the world. MJ believes one clear way to press for progress is “making the choir bigger” since preaching to the choir goes only so far… unless that choir grows!

MJ leads with abundant enthusiasm, vulnerability, and light. She inspires business and personal transformation through living authentically and creating an unstoppable momentum in the world around her. Her career spans twenty years in sales, marketing and advertising with her most coveted source of inspiration - connecting with others through the expression of the authentic self.  

Michael Tenney is a Director, Search Insights, for Bing Ads at Microsoft. He currently manages a team of Insights Managers located in various field offices throughout the United States. Michael and his team focus on providing unique and actionable insights that “wow” their clients, build trust, add value and enable their sales partners to get to the “yes.” Michael practices servant leadership and is proudest when a team member moves on to the next step of their career.

Michael’s favorite thing to do is to help others, especially those that are placed at a disadvantage. Outside of work he is a board member of the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network, an organization devoted to promoting and inspiring youth to lead safe, healthy, and successful lives. He has a wife, four children, and just welcomed his first grandchild to the world.
