The Firebird

From a masquerade waltz to the enchanting tale of the Firebird, your whole family will come together to enjoy this magical concert. Join us post-concert for our annual Fall Carnival featuring games, food and prizes! Costumes encouraged.

Classical KING FM Family Concerts are designed for ages 5 to 12. Come early for pre-concert activities in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby, featuring crafts and instrument exploration.

Roderick Cox


Roderick Cox, a native of Macon, Georgia, earned a master of music degree in conducting from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Cox was recently named the Minnesota Orchestra’s associate conductor in September 2016, following a year in which he served as the ensemble’s assistant conductor.

Charlotte Marckx


Winner of the 2017 MTNA Junior National String Competition, Charlotte Marckx has been featured in Strings Magazine and on NPR’s From the Top.
