Seattle Arts & Lectures: Carol Anderson

The June 21, 2020 Seattle Arts & Lectures presentation of Carol Anderson at Benaroya Hall has been canceled in order to prioritize the health and safety of our audiences, artists and staff while health officials manage the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community.  Seattle Arts & Lectures will still present a digital version of this June 21 event, to which all current ticket holders will be invited.  Please visit the Seattle Arts & Lectures website at https://lectures.org/event/carol-anderson/ to learn more about the digital presentation of the June 12 Carol Anderson program.

Join Seattle Arts & Lectures for an evening Carol Anderson, one of the premier scholars of black American history. Anderson’s viral op-ed for the Washington Post explored the concept of “white rage” after Ferguson, Missouri erupted in 2014. Her subsequent book, White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide, won the 2016 National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism. Her latest book, One Person, No Vote: How Voter Suppression is Destroying Our Democracy (2018), is a startling history of voter suppression in America.
