Kick off the holidays at the Seattle Symphony’s 25th annual Holiday Musical Salute! The afternoon features the Seattle Symphony in a concert of seasonal favorites lead by conductor Jacomo Bairos and performances by Young Artist Stephen Leou and Northwest Boychoir Apprentices. This popular holiday tradition includes a hot chocolate reception, raffle, Holiday Lane pop-up shops and a luncheon, all to benefit the Seattle Symphony orchestra musicians and their futures. The Northwest Boychoir Apprentices are young singers who are members of the training program that prepares choristers for advancement into the acclaimed Northwest Boychoir.
Portuguese-American conductor Jacomo Bairos continues to redefine what a conductor can be and do in the 21st century, challenging the preconceptions of orchestral repertoire, blurring the lines of genre, and integrating the orchestra into the broader community in holistic and organic new ways.
Stephen Leou, 14, studies cello with Leslie Marckx. At age 11, Stephen debuted with the Cascade Symphony as their “Rising Star” Concerto Competition Winner, under the baton of Michael Miropolsky.
