Hear & Now

Octave 9 >

Celebrate a year of Hear & Now at the closing performance, featuring new compositions conceived by Path with Art artists alongside musicians from the general public.

Project Description:
In the summer of 2017, the artist Trimpin and Path with Art student artists who have lived experience of homelessness began collaboratively envisioning, designing, and creating a kinetic sound sculpture. The sculpture includes original visual artwork, poetry, and musical compositions created by PwA artists. In Trimpin’s words, this sculpture is “a metaphor for being in constant transition.”

During its recent stay at Seattle Art Museum, Hear & Now earned rave reviews. The Seattle P-I called it “eye-catching,” and The Stranger selected it as one of its Critics’ Picks Best Art Shows of the summer. “Lives of the homeless, often overlooked, can no longer be ignored thanks to the message shared through a powerful work of art,” Evening Magazine said of the piece.

Special thanks to the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods and the Shanbrom Family Foundation for sponsoring Hear & Now.

RSVP encouraged, but not required.
