At-Home Craft: Make Your Own Practice Bassoon

It’s craft time! Join Amy from the Seattle Symphony’s Education & Community Engagement team as she shows you how to make your own practice bassoon.

What you’ll need

 

Steps to make your instrument

  • Print out bassoon fingering chart template
  • Connect the toilet paper tubes together by folding in the bottom edge of one tube until it will fit inside the next
  • Cut your bassoon fingering chart in half along the vertical line
  • Tape the front (F) around connected tubes then tape the back (B) on the opposite side of your tubes
  • Tape or stick your pipe cleaner to the top of your bassoon
  • Color the keys and practice your bassoon fingerings
