Preparations are well underway for two exciting series presented by the Seattle Symphony: Live @ Benaroya Hall and National Geographic Live!
A brief sampling of fall Live @ Benaroya Hall concerts includes legendary English rock band, The Zombies; Casa Patas: Flamenco Frequencies; masters of the accordion Motion Trio; and holiday shows by the Brian Setzer Orchestra, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Portland Cello Project. Looking ahead to February, the Seattle Symphony will be joined by a full rock band, bridging the gap between rock ‘n’ roll and classical music as they perform The Music of Led Zeppelin: A Rock Symphony.
The Seattle Symphony is also the Seattle presenter for the National Geographic Live speaker series, which brings incredible stories and images to life. To meet demand for this series which frequently sells out, there are some exciting changes. The season will begin in November this year, instead of January, and an additional speaker will take part, bringing the total number of programs to six. At the same time, the Sunday matinee for five of the presentations will move from the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall into the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium, making a total of three shows in the main hall for these speakers. These changes make additional seating available, so if you’ve always wanted to attend, this is your chance! Seattle Symphony subscribers receive the “member” discount for National Geographic Live events.
